Great Day for a Contest!

Hello Everyone,

It has been a crazy few days. Although no agent has come forward, we are working to market the book more and more. Our old website was good, but it was outdated and was not affiliated with any domain. The graphics and design were okay, but My felt we could do better. My opened up her own website with her own domain. Something simple, yet elegant; www.leafdry.com. This made her think of our book and our marketing strategy. Our old website, detectivesofthekingdomseries@godaddysites.com was long and perhaps hard to remember or type. On Sunday, My and I sat down and worked on our new plan for marketing. This included going to Zyro.com and not only setting up a better, more professional website, we were also able to set up our own domain; www.welby909.com. As much as I wanted to set up detectivesofthekingdomseries.com, there was two things that held me back. The length was one of them. Needed to be shorter and easier to remember. So I thought about DOTK.com (Detectives of the Kingdom). This would have been perfect, but what if after this series, I was to venture out into another book, or book series? What then? By making the domain welby909.com, no matter what I do, we can use this domain. And thus our new website is born. All people need to remember is: welby909.com. Simple and sweet and they gain access to our website easily.

We even carried over all the blogs from the old website. One difference though, although it really does not matter, is that there is no more signup for the daily blog. Since My and I were the only ones who signed up to get the blog sent to us every day anyway, not having an email sign up was a no brainer. We can always add it in if someone asks for it. However, the new design and layout is extremely professional and makes our marketing platform so much better. A huge shout out to Zyro.com and their platform. Somethings are tricky, but for the most part, an A all the way around.

Another exciting and wonderful happening is we have landed a new store location. We are set up at Starline Excursion Market in Harvard IL. This vendor market is classy and clean. People are friendly and easy to work with. The entire atmosphere is laid back and a homey type of feel. Our space is G-2A. A wonderful little booth located more towards the back-center of the market. We plan on moving our items in on Friday, September 21st. Of course we do not have an agent for the book as of yet, but we can set up a “Coming Soon” display to help advertise. Almost forgot! This just in. We have started a contest for the covers background. This is a fun way to spread word about the book, plus get some people involved. And who knows, perhaps someone has a unique idea for a background that we would have missed out on. The contest will run until we have an agent and a cover is chosen. If the winner of the contest's design is chosen for the book, they will get their name published in the credits of the book. If the winner's design does not meet final approval, they still win the autographed book. Either way, it is a win win situation. Depending on how many entries we have, we may have second and third place prizes as well. We are so excited to see this come to fruition. Thank you again for being a loyal reader.
