Positive Feedback

This morning we start another day looking on the bright side of things. Although we still do not have a literary agent, a lot has happened in the last few days. Our videos are gaining more attention than our other posts. Even did a post with Mino yesterday. Everyone loves a video with a dog in it. Lol. He stole the show yesterday.

Two agents who did reply, although they said "no," I could tell by their feedback it was a thought out decision. They actually took time to review and then decide that Svenska Handelsbanken was not for them. Because this is the first book of the series, the beginning of the book virtually sets up the series. This can be boring to some. Agents ask for different things when you query them. Some want the first three chapters, and others just want the first five or ten pages. In one case, the agent only received the first 20 pages of the book (Just over one chapter). Her comment was that the book did not have that instant spark. I get that. When you only read the first 20 pages, you have not gotten to the heart of the book. Another agent mentioned Svenska Handelsbanken is written as a book that "Tells" the story, instead of "Showing." This is true. She prefers a book that "Shows" so this book was not for her. I respect that.

Agents are people just like us. They have their own taste for what they like and dislike. What is not in their realm of taste, could very well be in the golden treasure another agent has been dying to get their hands on. The plus side to all of this, is that these two took the time to dive in and really look at the book and see if it was right for them. The fact they even responded with a detailed email response is uplifting. It could also mean that those agents we have not heard from are also taking time to analyze and comprehend our book. We are confident and hopeful we will hear from other agents soon.

Beautiful day yesterday. Mino enjoyed the outdoors a few extra minutes yesterday. The weather is cooling off, and Mino and I are very grateful for that. Neither one of us really like hot, hot weather.
