After publishing the Brioni (book 2 of the Detectives of the Kingdom Series), we found that many readers are enjoying summer and have not really finished reading Svenska yet. Those that have, dove into "The Brioni" and absolutely loved it. Even better than Svenska, which won four awards.
Why Real Estate? Good question. At first it was video games. My wanted to save money (not that video games are that expensive), and told me I should write a book. Once I got started, there was no stopping me. Svenska, The Brioni, Know Your Enemy, and the fourth book, Smuggling Seas, are now written. However, My realized that by switching to writing books, it costs more money (ALOT MORE) than my video games. Lol. My wanted me to find a hobby where I actually made money, not lose money. :)
Since I am very familiar with Real Estate, at least from a buyer's perspective, becoming a realtor was a no brainer. We found there are some shady realtors out there, and people deserve better. Many realtors are top notch honest folk. Not saying there are none. Just mentioning that there are some who... let's leave it at that.
I studied through CE Shop. Great course for learning Real Estate. I did the online, at your own pace. This way, I could really study and not worry about falling behind and playing catch up. I passed the National and State exams on my first try. So then it was time to look for a job. However, I am not your average realtor. I want to keep my current job and only be a realtor part time. Weekdays 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and all day weekends. I posted on the internet with clear intentions. Several companies have reached out to me. This blog will detail the joys and struggles of that search, without mentioning any names.
Spoke with a realtor on the phone and we set up an appointment to meet today. Again, my working hours were clearly stated well before hand. Sure enough, they love me. Then they mention, "Training is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to Noon. Does that work for you?" Talk about a complete waste of time. A friend of mine gave me some great advice before I started looking. She mentioned, "Don't forget, they are not just interviewing you, YOU are interviewing them!" That is great advice. I want to work with a company that works with me. The best part about my search for a realtor company, is that I do not need to be in a hurry. Many new realtors jump at the chance because they do not have any income coming in. For me, this is more like a hobby. Of course, when I am working, it is 100% all in. However, keeping my full time job is paramount. One down. A few more to go. The search continues.
